Who are the names and faces in the world of gaming worth knowing about?Steve Wynn

Well, there are some big heroes out there – and a few villains too! In this ‘Part 1’ of a new series, we’re going to take a look at some of the names that we think you should know about. First up in the series, we’d like to introduce you to Steve Wynn and Terrence Watanabe…

Steve Wynn

American business mogul Steve Wynn is a big name in Las Vegas – mainly due to the role he played in reviving the city’s fortunes back in the 1990’s. Wynn’s company built and refurbished some of the most famous casinos on ‘The Strip’, including the world famous Bellagio, Treasure Island, The Mirage and the Golden Nugget.
Wynn is worth an estimated $2.5billion, and has a passion for art – his collection could often be seen on display at the Bellagio, and has included works by Monet, Turner and Rembrandt.

Terrance Watanabe

Unlike the world-renowned mr Wynn, Terrance is famous for a slightly less positive reason. Millionaire Watanbe – a man who made his fortune though the family business, which was sold for over $300 million – is also a keen gambler. So keen in fact that responsible gambling was not really part of his agenda like it is on goldenpalace.be. During the year 2007, Watanabe is said to have amassed losses of over $100 million while betting at a variety of Las Vegas casinos.

He was partly responsible for one particular casino owner’s impressive turnover that year. He is also well known by many as the subject of one of gaming’s biggest losing streaks of all time.
