Belgian Pro League matchday 16: what’s in store for our sponsored teams?

21.11.2019

As a proud sponsor of KV Mechelen, RAFC, and KV Kortrijk, we’re always excited to see these teams take to the pitch. KV Mechelen hosts Zulte Waregem, while RAFC and KV Kortrijk have tricky visits to KAA Gent and RSC Anderlecht, respectively. There’s a lot to play for in all these games, so let’s refresh our memories a bit and see if there’s a way to place some smarter bets for our sponsored teams!

KV Mechelen – Zulte Waregem

KV Mechelen is proving its worth in the highest Belgian division in splendid fashion, as it finds itself in good company in the upper regions of the rankings. On top of that, playing at Achter De Kazerne is never a gift for any opponent, as the Malinwa fans are a hardy crowd that can really drive the KV Mechelen players to great performances. With a victory, the yellow-and-red can solidify its position while keeping competitors at bay. Zulte Waregem, for its part, is doing all it can to steady itself in the upper half of the rankings. If it loses, it offers no less than 3 teams a clean chance to overtake it…

Statistics KV Mechelen

  • Ranking: 4* (*on par with Standard Liège in both points and wins/losses/draws, but with a worse goal balance)
  • Points: 27
  • Matches won: 8
  • Matches lost: 4
  • Matches drawn: 3
  • Goals scored: 27
  • Goals conceded: 23

Bet on a clean victory for Malinwa: ‘Correct score: 2-0’ gives great odds @8.60!

KAA Gent – RAFC

It should come as no surprise that the Great Old is a force to be reckoned with in the league: with Dieumerci Mbokani, the Antwerp team has the most lethal forward. The Congolese striker has at the moment already scored 11 goals in 14 games – that’s 3 more than his nearest competitor for top scorer. We can expect him to hurt the Buffalo defence, although scoring at KAA Gent is no easy feat. Gent has recorded nothing but victories at home so far this season, an impressive record that shows how the Buffalos can use their fanbase to excel over strong competitors. Can RAFC end KAA Gent’s streak here?

Statistics RAFC

  • Ranking: 6
  • Points: 24
  • Matches won: 7
  • Matches lost: 4
  • Matches drawn: 3
  • Goals scored: 28
  • Goals conceded: 21

Will Mbokani strike again? Odds @3.65 says he will!

RSC Anderlecht – KV Kortrijk

RSC Anderlecht is so far not bringing any award-winning football to the pitch this season, perhaps notoriously so, despite high-profile names such as Vincent Kompany, Samir Nasri and Nacer Chadli. A case can be made for recent results that seem indicative of a slow crawl out of the muck, but Anderlecht isn’t there yet. KV Kortrijk, meanwhile, will need a big result against the Mauves if it wants to keep itself out of trouble and above the lowest regions of the rankings. With Anderlecht playing so inconsistent, there is glory to be gained by the Kortrijk outfit if it manages to take charge of the game here!

Statistics KV Kortrijk

  • Ranking: 13*
  • Points: 13
  • Matches won: 3
  • Matches lost: 9
  • Matches drawn: 3
  • Goals scored: 23
  • Goals conceded: 28

A victory for KV Kortrijk comes with attractive odds @5.20!
