Belgium in action in the Euro 2020 Qualifiers: matchdays 9 and 10

15.11.2019

So far, Belgium’s national football team has almost casually brushed through its qualification matches without fault. The Belgians has already qualified for participation in the upcoming European tournament in 2020, beating lowly San Marino in 9-to-nill fashion to become the first team to ascertain itself of a ticket to the big tournament, all the while conceding just a single goal. Of course, that doesn’t mean that the upcoming games away against Russia and home against Cyprus aren’t of any importance: group domination is on the line. This could get interesting – and lucrative for you!

Russia – Belgium (November 16, 6 p.m.)

First up, on Saturday at 6 p.m., there’s the biggest hurdle Belgium has yet faced in its Group I, when it travels to Saint-Petersburg. There, it crosses swords with Russia, the team most likely to eventually join in the tournament too. While it might seem that no nation can touch the Belgium, number one on the world ranking, Russia is a notoriously tough client. It will be an interesting game to watch for sure, especially considering that Russia is the only team that managed to net a goal against the Belgians...

Win €68 on a €10 bet for Belgium to recover for the win after a breakaway opening goal by Russia with a correct score of 1-2!

Both teams tower above their Group I opponents, but only Belgium has neither drawn nor lost any games so far. Russia has 7 wins and 1 draw out of its 8 games so far. Both teams have not lost any of their last 5 games, but then again, the competition has been less impressive so far. In the 6 most recent head-to-head matches, Russia managed 2 draws as its best results, while Belgium dominated with 12 goals in 4 wins. Considering the form of some of the Belgian stars, Russia could be in for a long evening...

Romelu Lukaku is most likely to add to his impressive tally of goals for Belgium @4.90!

Belgium – Cyprus (November 19, 8.45 p.m.)

Together with Scotland, Cyprus could be considered an outsider for qualification in the Group I that ended with authoritative dominance by Belgium and Russia. The previous head-to-head encounter, in Nicosia, Cyprus on March 24, was won by Belgium on a 0-2 scoreline. In front of its home crowd, Belgium is sure to give the fans what they came to see: a smashing victory and another clean sheet. A goal by Cyprus therefore unlikely, as the island nation has not scored a single goal in its last 6 games.

Belgium will very much like to make a point to its potential tournament competitors that it will be the team to beat. Despite somewhat lacklustre performances from time to time in these qualifications leading up to the main event next summer, the Belgians can put forth quite the statistics against Cyprus: 28 goals and 11 victories in 12 games. Cyprus scored merely 3 times against Belgium in those meetings. Any scenario that involves a modest victory for Belgium seems a solid plan for placing your bet.

Belgium may play a modest game : what would you say to @4.20 for 'Correct score: 4-0'?
