Bet on the big derbies this weekend!

05.03.2021

On the sportsbook page at Golden Palace, you’ll find the most exciting matchups in all your favourite sports. This weekend, however, is promising to be something else entirely. Two of the most famous city derbies in the world, the Manchester Derby and El Derbi Madrileño, are played this Sunday!

What an exciting sports weekend do we find ahead of us, because that’s not all. In our own Belgian Basketball League, our sponsored Spirou Charleroi squares off against rival Ostend on that same Sunday. Can you see any ways to make some money here? Let’s find us some insights and win this weekend!

Manchester City – Manchester United (Sunday, March 7 at 5.30 p.m.)

If last year was Liverpool’s year, then the Premier League season 2020-2021 is all for Manchester City once more. With the title defender pretty much out of the picture, the Citizens lead the top flight of English football in commending fashion. Man City is currently first with 65 points – a whopping 15 points lead on its closest competitor, Manchester United.

It seems like the Red Devils have returned to their best form in years. The second place is theirs, with only Leicester City to threaten their current position. A victory over the league leader could boost confidence for the remainder of the season, though it remains to be seen if anyone can still catch up to Manchester City on top of its game…

Who will win the Manchester Derby? A draw is worth @4.20!

Atlético Madrid – Real Madrid (Sunday, March 7 at 4.15 p.m.)

In the Spanish La Liga, everything is still possible for the usual suspects Atlético Madrid (1), Barcelona (2) and Real Madrid (3). Leader Atlético holds 58 points, just 5 points away from both Barça and fierce city rival Real. Atlético is rocking La Liga, with 18 games won out of 24 – and that’s after having played one game less than its illustrious competitors.

Real Madrid dropped the ball on a chance to shake off Barcelona in its last game. That’s an unfortunate situation with the Madrid Derby ahead… Los Blancos’s 53 points are far from a surprise, though: they haven’t lost any of their last 5 games. The battle for Madrid is another task altogether. Can Thibaut Courtois keep his nets clean in his encounter?

Both teams are about tied odds-wise here: @2.65 for Atlético and @2.70 for Real!
