Bet on the Coupe de France now!

The moment to which football fans have been looking forward to has finally arrived! The 2020 Coupe de France set to take place on July 24, months after its originally planned date of April 25. France’s yearly knockout tournament was started by hundreds of teams, but now only two remain for the final. On Friday, it’s Paris Saint-Germain versus Saint-Étienne, and the stakes are high, as lifting the trophy means entry into the Europa League. Which team will win here?

Paris Saint-Germain – Saint-Étienne (9 p.m., July 24, Stade de France, Saint-Denis)

This long-anticipated 2020 edition of the final of France’s most important Cup tournament will be played between Paris Saint-Germain and Saint-Étienne on the neutral ground of Saint-Denis’s Stade de France. There will be no supporters allowed to witness the match, but technically speaking, lower-ranked Saint-Étienne is the home team, as per the rules of the Coupe de France.

Paris Saint-Germain is back in the final again, after also making it last year. However, in 2019, the star-studded Parisian outfit couldn’t get past Rennes to its 13th Coupe de France trophy. In a nail-biting ordeal, a penalty shoot-out was needed to announce Rennes the winner. PSG will not let that happen again, and it has set aside its share of worthy opponents, including a 5-1 thrashing of Olympique Lyon.

Saint-Étienne is the underdog in the fight for the Coupe this year. In comparison to PSG, Saint-Étienne can be considered a modest team, but in recent years, it did manage to enter the European football fray on occasion. Back in 2019, Saint-Étienne was kicked out the tournament by Dijon in the round of 32. En route to this year’s final, however, it managed to beat reigning trophy holder Rennes.
