Big boys meet up!

On Saturday, Italy has its Derby della Madonnina when AC Milan hosts city rival Inter Milan. In France’s Ligue 1, too, a big game is at hand when Olympique Lyonnais meets Paris Saint-Germain. Finally, English football gets it big fixture too: Chelsea squares off with Liverpool. It’s all to play for for the big boys, this weekend!

AC Milan - Inter Milan

On Saturday at 9 p.m., Italy’s fashion capital will turn a into football frenzied pandemonium when Associazione Calcio and Internazionale cross swords. Both Milanese clubs have 18 champions titles, so historically, the two north Italian giants are on par. Recently though, it’s Inter who’s the stronger of the two, where AC’s dominance has faded. Can the Rossoneri beat their rivals to make a point of their illustrious history, or will fresh Nerazzurri signing Romelu Lukaku spoil the home team’s party in his first Italian city derby?

Chelsea - Liverpool

In England, on Sunday at 5.30 p.m., two giants duke it out in the big game of the weekend: Chelsea – Liverpool! The Reds seem to be the team to beat, after winning the Champions League and barely missing out on the Premier League title. Chelsea has been building up to a repeat of its 2016/2017 title exploits, and with club icon and all-time goal scorer Frank Lampard at the helm, there’s hope yet for the Blues. If this is the season where Jürgen Klopp can finally get the highest football prize in English football, then making short work of Chelsea could be paramount.

Olympique Lyonnais - Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain is in for its toughest test yet this season when it travels down to Lyon on Sunday at 9 p.m. The Parisian powerhouse sits in a fairly logical first place in the Ligue 1 table, where Lyon finds itself at a decent place 8, though it knows that it’s meant for a higher place. A victory over the best French team in recent history could propel the Gones to the heights they hope to achieve. Now that Neymar is done pretending to leave PSG, it’s time for the star attacker to torture his opponent’s defences once more.
