Denmark – Belgium (Parken Stadium, Copenhagen, Saturday, September 5, 8.45 p.m.)

Denmark and Belgium are meeting each other in their Group 2, where the other contenders are England and Iceland. Thanks to this new Nations League format, that effectively replaces friendly European national football games, there is more at stake, as the competition is more evenly weighted out.

Boasting a head-to-head record against Belgium that is surprisingly in its favour, Denmark is not a team to be trifled with. Its current selection includes players that have plenty of experience in Europe’s toughest competitions. Foremost, it has the incredible Christian Eriksen (Inter Milan) in its ranks.

Belgium, though, is still considered the better team overall, with a higher UEFA ranking to prove it. The Belgians were a favourite to win the European Championship, and after a well-deserved third place in the World Championship of 2018, this Golden Generation is dead set on a big prize.

With some of the world’s best players – De Bruyne, Hazard, Lukaku, Courtois – on his team, coach Martinez has all the potential to lead the Red Devils deep into the Nations league. The road to the final starts on Saturday. Will you support the Belgians with a smart bet, and win some money when they win?
