12.04.2018

On Saturday at 8.45 p.m., Manchester City has another opportunity to win the league, against Spurs at Wembley. Then on Sunday at 2.30 p.m., SSC Napoli looks to stay in the race for the Serie A title with win against AC Milan. And then at 6 p.m. it’s time for Anderlecht versus Club Brugge!

Will Manchester City’s wait to claim the EPL title be extended here?

Are Manchester City suffering a crisis of confidence? Three big defeats in a week against rivals Liverpool (x2) and Manchester United will have left City boss Pep Guardiola scratching his head. Spurs have all but cemented their place in next season’s Champions League by extending the gap with fifth-place Chelsea to 10 points with six games to go. They will certainly go into the game full of confidence having not lost a Premier League game in 2018 (the last defeat came against City at the Etihad). Both Liverpool and United proved that attacking City is the best policy. Spurs hammered both of those teams at Wembley. Can we expect something similar to happen here?

Will AC Milan dash SSC Napoli’s hopes of winning a long awaited Serie A crown?

Napoli’s Amadou Diawara saved the day with a very late match winning goal in the nerve-racking 2-1 victory over Chievo that keeps alive Azzurri hopes of winning the Serie A title. This meant Maurizio Sarri's side left Sunday's game at the San Paolo four points adrift of leaders Juventus at the top. Meanwhile AC Milan were held to 0-0 draw by Sassuolo and are now eight points behind a Champions League placement. The Rossoneri will be without star defenders Leonardo Bonucci and Alessio Romagnoli after picking up a suspension and an injury respectively. Qualifying for the Europa League looked unlikely when Gennaro Gattuso replaced Montella in November, but now Milan are sixth and in the Coppa Italia final with two shots at European qualification. All to play for here!

Who will claim victory in the battle of the big two in Belgium?

On Sunday, the Constant Vanden Stock stadium will be full to the brim for the Championship Playoff clash between Belgian’s biggest clubs - Anderlecht and Club Brugge. With a 6-point lead over both Anderlecht and Gent, Club Brugge cannot afford to drop points against a direct rival. Club boss Ivan Leko will be happy to have flying winger Anthony Limbombe back from injury after the youngster missed the 1-0 defeat to Gent last time out. The 23-year-old Belgian has scored 6 goals in 28 league games this season. Anderlecht recorded a vital 2-1 win away to Sporting Charleroi that kept them in contention and will know that a victory at Brugge would blow the title race wide open once more.
