Roland-Garros 2020: win your own grand slam!

With Roland-Garros 2020, the last grand slam tennis tournament of the year is upon us. This will be the last chance for the greatest tennis players of their generation to grab a big prize this year. Who will rise to the occasion? Who will falter and fail, and who will surprise the world? We’ve lined up some scenarios in this article, in case you’re not sure yet where to place your bets. Of course, you’re more than welcome to correct us with a winning prediction of your own!

The men’s singles draw

We can’t talk about Roland-Garros without mentioning modern-day legend Rafael Nadal. The hard-hitting Spaniard won the French Open a record 12 times before, and is logically a first pick to win the grand slam title this year around, too. He’ll have to pass some heavy opposition on his way down the bracket, though: both Alexander Zverev and Dominic Thiem are on his side of the tournament bracket…

If you consider Nadal too safe a bet @2.80, you will find a bet on Thiem to win @5.00 a tasty risk!

Thiem to rise to the occasion? Betting on his bracket quarter to provide the winner is worth @4.50…

Maybe Novak Djokovic is a safer bet. The tall Serbian tennis master has a lot to make up for this year, after being infamously disqualified from the US Open. On his way to the final, Djokovic could potentially meet strong contenders like Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas – two players who’ve got a mind of their own as to whom the grand slam title should go. Hard to say how this part of the bracket will go!

With €31 to win from a €10 bet, Djokovic is second in line to win the grand slam…

Colour your bet Belgian with €10 on David Goffin to make it to the quarter-final and you could make €56!

The women’s singles draw

Serena Williams has been a solid presence in women’s tennis for close to 25 years now. The tireless American, who will have just turned 39 by the start of the tournament, aims for a 24th major title victory. She could be in over her head, though, as the competition is fierce as never before. Most notably, Victoria Azarenka could stop Williams for a second time in a row, after doing so at the US Open.

Not for the risk-averse: betting on Williams to win is going for @13.00!

Williams to win her bracket quarter @4.50 is a safer balance between risk and reward!

This, in turn, could clear the road down to brackets for Simona Halep. The Romanian powerhouse won the French Open in 2018 and is expected to double down this year. Another candidate that is not unlikely to make it to the final could be Spain’s Garbiñe Muguruza, who already won the French Open once before, back in 2016. Halep vs Muguruza: now there’s a final that could be one for the ages!

Halep to win the French Open outright now stands @2.80, while Muguruza is at @8.00…

Belgian Elise Mertens deserves your consideration to win her bracket quarter @8.60!
